싱어송라이터 윤대천이 2024년 3월 10일 오후 12시 정규 앨범 ‘Crescents’를 발매하고 뮤직비디오를 공개했다.
윤대천의 새 앨범 ‘Crescents’는 따스한 분위기의 잔잔한 감성과 감미로운 목소리로 삶과 사랑을 담은 열두 곡이 수록된 앨범으로, 윤대천이 직접 작사, 작곡, 편곡하고 그가 활동하는 레이블 디씨피레코드 (DCP Record)의 멤버들이 참여했다.
앨범의 제목 ‘Crescents’는 초승달을 의미한다. 새로운 달을 시작하는 것처럼 새로운 날들에 대한 바람을 담아 듣는 이에게 삶과 사랑의 본질을 떠올리게 하는 앨범이다.
윤대천은 이 앨범에 대해 “데뷔 후 결핍과 방황으로 시작해 5년간 표현해온 정열 되지 않은 작품의 산개를 한 데 모으고 태초, 근본, 순수, 처음, 시작의 의미를 지닌 ‘초승달’처럼 새로운 시작을 다짐했다. 모든 시작에는 본질이 있기에 곡에서 의미하는 대상은 ‘사람’이 될 수도, ‘꿈’이 될 수도, 각자가 사랑하는 ‘어떤 것’이 될 수도 있다”면서 “많은 사람들에게 ‘영화’ 같은 순간을 느낄 수 있도록 하기를 매일 꿈꾼다. 제겐 인생의 시작과도 같았던 저의 음악이 여러분의 ‘일상’에서 어떤 형태로든 마음속 ‘울림’이 돼 ‘함께’할 수 있었으면 좋겠다”고 말했다.
특히 타이틀곡 ‘❩ First Day’는 초승달을 비추며 채워가는 따스한 해처럼 자신을 밝혀주는 사람과 사랑에 고마움을 표현하고 새 달이 뜨는 날 사람들이 기원하는 새롭고 따뜻한 마음처럼 서로의 삶을 사랑으로 채워가길 바라는 마음을 곡에 담았다.
또한 뮤직비디오는 제주에서 촬영해 평소 그가 좋아하는 자연 속에서 자신을 ‘초승달’에, 따스히 감싸주는 그대를 ‘해’에 빗대어 그댈 향한 마음을 자연의 노랫소리로 전하는 한 편의 이야기로 풀어냈다. 꿈같은 풍경을 떠올리며 그댈 위한 곡을 쓰고 그 속에 들어가 서로를 바라보며 함께하는 연출을 통해 매일 따스히 비춰주는 해로 채워져가는 달처럼, 매일 주어진 삶에서 서로의 소중함을 깊이 간직하고 사랑하며 늘 행복하길 바라는 마음을 뮤직비디오에 담았다.
한편 윤대천은 대한민국의 아티스트이자 얼터너티브 록 그룹인 자판기유자차 (VMCT)의 프런트맨이다. 그룹에서 리드보컬을 맡으며 직접 작사, 작곡, 프로듀싱하고, 곡에 따라 피아노, 어쿠스틱기타를 연주하며 다양한 아티스트들과 예술적 교류를 나누고 있다. 2018년 싱글 앨범 ‘Me Lody’를 발매하며 솔로 데뷔 이후 다수의 솔로 앨범에 멤버들의 참여를 이끌어 다양한 색깔의 음악을 선보였으며, 그가 속해있는 그룹 자판기유자차 (VMCT)의 첫 번째 정규 앨범에 열한 곡의 트랙을 멤버들과 직접 제작, 프로듀싱해 2021년 ‘The Venmacitea’로 그룹 데뷔를 했다.
넓은 음역과 갈라지는 듯한 고음, 공허한 음색과 경쾌하고 몽환적인 사운드, 은유적 대상에 직설적 표현으로 중의적이고 직관적인 노랫말을 즐기며, 목가적이면서도 웅혼한 분위기를 자아내는 독특한 색깔을 지닌 아티스트 윤대천의 이야기가 많은 이들의 관심을 불러일으킬 것으로 기대된다.
